Columbia Business School and SAIF Enters into Strategic Partnership

Columbia Business School, founded in 1916, is one of the six Ivy League business schools. Columbia Business School has been pioneering business practices and educating leaders from around the world for nearly a century. On April 25, 2012, an international strategic cooperation agreement on Finance EMBA program was signed between Columbia Business School and SAIF at Datong Square. As one of the strategic partners of SAIF EMBA Program, Columbia Business School has successfully cooperated with SAIF to carry out the international module of SAIF Finance EMBA in New York in October, 2011.  

At the signing ceremony, both sides negotiated details of the partnership program and shared the experience of how to run a world-class business school. First, Prof, Chang Chun, Executive Director of SAIF, pointed out that higher requirements will be expected from finance practitioners with the continuous financial reforms committed by the Chinese government. “The cooperation with Columbia Business School is definitely helpful in achieving SAIF’s mission which is to develop world-class financial professionals.” said Prof. Chang.

Mr. Michael Malefakis, Associate Dean for Executive Education at Columbia Business School, then summarized two points in common of the two schools: located in the financial hub of the home country: Shanghai and New York; the professors all have pragmatic research in financial practices and solid industry knowledge. Moreover, Mr. Malefaski considered that further cooperation between the two schools will also go hand in hand with the financial industry development in Shanghai and New York.
